HMD Global, the maker of Nokia phones, released quite a number of Nokia phones in 2018.
Just last week, a new render appeared revealing that HMD Global was working on a slightly bigger and advanced variant of the Nokia 5.1 which will be called Nokia 5.1 Plus.
Nokia 5.1 Plus will be coming with advanced features just as the name implies and they include a dual camera and other features.
It will also come with a notch display and will be launched worldwide, unlink the Nokia X6 that was exclusively launched in China.
For now, I don’t really know much about the specifications and other features but according to the TENAA certification leaks, here are the short info about the new Nokia phone.
Table of Contents
Coming to the display, the phone will have a screen size of around 5.8-inch display with 2244 x 1080 HD+ resolution and a notched design.
The screen will also be covered by a corning gorilla glass to make it scratch resistant and you’ll get a premium built panel which houses a fingerprint scanner, camera, and LED flash.
Processor & Memory
The Nokia will feature an octa-core processor that’s set to run at a fast speed of 2.0 GHz. The processor will either be one of the MediaTek’s Helio P-series or Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 600-series chipsets.
The device is rumored to come with different variants of 3GB, 4GB, and 6GB RAM along with either 32GB or 64GB of expandable internal storage.
Expect it to ship with Android Oreo OS based on Android One since it has been confirmed by Nokia that all their latest phones will be powered by Android One while updates will be rolling for other smartphones.
Android One is excellent for Android devices because it offers beautiful features that will even change the looks and user interface of your phone. You’ll also get the latest Google Assistant on it.
Camera & Battery
The camera set up will be a dual 13MP on the back for photography and a single 8MP on the front for selfies. This will enable you to perfectly capture moments that are important to you.
The battery is rated to be 3000mAh, which is perfect for the processor that’s also a determinant of the overall battery performance.
Availability and Price
Just as mentioned above, Nokia 5.1 plus will be available worldwide. This means that the phone will most likely be available in Nigeria, unlike other smartphones that you can only read the reviews but not available on the market.
From the look of things, it appears that the phone won’t make any official appearance until the end of August at the earliest, and it will be going on sales in Black, Blue, Copper, and White colors. Well, time will tell, let’s wait and see.
Moving to the price, Nokia 5.1 Plus has not been officially launched. So, the price isn’t yet available. Expect it to start selling at a price of ₦85,000 to ₦95,000 in Nigeria.
