Samsung Galaxy S7 is one of the hottest creations of Samsung Tech Lab. The phone is a super hit with several jaw-breaking features.
It’s a beautiful specimen of cutting-edge tech and seductive metal and glass build. It comes with a single (nano) SIM or dual (stand-by) SIM slots.
Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge have slight differences in their features.
According to the company, the phones can resist water in up to 5 feet for up to 30 minutes — and they have an IP68 rating.
Samsung Galaxy S7 is designed with Corning Gorilla 4. It has a large display of 5.1 inches while S7 Edge has a bigger display of 5.5 inches with curved edges.
The HD Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen has a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels approximately 577 PPI.
The display is always on – showing calendar, time or images on the lock screen. This means that the screen is always on even when the phone is on stand-by. You might be bothered that this will consume your battery life. But don’t worry! Samsung says this ‘always-on’ feature uses just one percent of the battery life and claim that it is, even more, energy conserving than having a lock screen.
It claims that unlocking the screen consumes more energy even if you just want to check time.
The phone has a dimension of 142.4 x 69.6 x 7.9 mm and weighs 152g. The smooth design makes it feel cool in the palm.
It is the first smartphone with dual-pixel technology. It has fast autofocus and an advanced sensor for capturing images in low light.
The primary camera is 12 MP and has phase detection autofocus functionality. The camera is accompanied by LED flash to enhance its productivity. It is also equipped with a 5 MP front camera capable of taking amazing images.

Samsung Galaxy S7 runs on Android v6.0 (Marshmallow) OS. It features advanced Bluetooth (v4.2) and a micro USB (v2.0).
It supports 4G LTE for speedy internet connection. It also supports Wi-Fi and internet hotspot to give you a seamless internet experience. To ease multitasking, the smartphone has been equipped with Quad Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 CPU.
The phone has a very large internal memory of 32 GB or 64 GB. The memory is expandable to up to 200 GB.
For the single SIM model, the phone has a dedicated microSD slot (for external memory) while the SIM 2 slot is used (for external memory) for the double SIM model.
The 4 GB RAM is combined with the Quad Core CPU to let you switch from one application to another without slowing down your phone’s operation.
The non-removable Li-Ion battery has a capacity of 3000mAh for S7 and 3600mAh for S7 Edge. With the quick charge 2.0 technology, you need not wait forever for the battery to charge completely as it gets to 60 percent in just 30 minutes.
The fast wireless charging makes it even easier to have your phone with you all day long. But note that the Samsung wireless charging pads are sold separately.
