A Comprehensive List of the Best LED and Smart TVs to Buy in Nigeria
Getting a TV in Nigeria is no longer as easy as it used to be.
With the overwhelming choices of TV brands, resolutions, and display sizes, you can easily get confused on the best TV set to stake your money on.
Except you’re on an extremely flexible budget, you probably have one opportunity to hit or miss picking the right TV.
So, how do you ensure you get the best one that will suit your needs perfectly and still won’t break your budget?
My first advice? Don’t completely rely on specs only. Getting the right TV also depends more on what you need.
Determine the best type that suits your needs. Nowadays, there are 3 major categories: LCD, LED, and Smart TV (the latest trend).
LCD TVs, though still found in most homes, are now old-fashioned. They’re very cheap but don’t have a very high picture quality. They’re great to stake your money on if you’re looking for something for the bedroom or kitchen. But If you want something better, your best bet is to go for an LED TV or a smart TV.
What to Consider in a TV
Screen Size
Screen size is extremely important. A large screen will provide you a good viewing experience. It doesn’t really matter if it’s an LED or Smart TV. You may not get the best viewing experience if the size of the screen is small.
A 32-inch TV will be okay for the bedroom and probably for the living room if you have a one room apartment or a very small living room. If your apartment is anything more than a two bedroom apartment or if your living room is large, your best bet is to go for a larger screen like 40-inch or 55-inch and above.

Another thing to consider before getting a TV is its resolution. Resolution determines the sharpness of the pictures. It varies from 720P, 1080p to Ultra HD. You’re better off going for either the 1080p or ultra HD resolution if you’re shopping for a living room TV. Most 720p come in small sizes like 32 inches, which are suitable for the bedroom.
As I stated earlier, shopping for a TV can be really daunting as there are numerous brands and models out there. In this article, I outline some of best LED TVs and Smart TVs in Nigeria to help you narrow your search. You can go for any of them with confidence if your budget allows.
LED TVs
LED TVs are a huge leap from LCD TVs. Basically, an LED TV uses light emitting diodes for picture display while an LCD uses the liquid in crystal display to show pictures. An LED TVs produce better picture quality and are often more expensive.
LED TVs also come with bigger screen sizes like 55-inch, 65-inch and even larger. Most use the latest 4k ultra HD resolution for a better picture display sharpness.

Curved TV
Personally, I think curved TVs are overhyped. But that’s just a personal opinion.
Curved TVs are beautiful. That’s all there’s to them. Viewing this TV from different angles is quite challenging due to its curved body. And in most cases, only those sitting directly in front of it will get the best viewing experience.
So, should you go for a curved TV? Sure! You can go for it if you want something to impress your friends. Otherwise, stay away from it. They’re not suitable for large families since not everyone will enjoy the view, plus, they are quite expensive.
If you’d love to get an inexpensive one, go for the latest 32-Inch Samsung Curved UHD TV. It’s budget-friendly. For something fancy, you may want to go for the more expensive Samsung 65-inch UHD, which is a curved smart TV with a huge display.
