Full Comparison Review: Tecno L9 Vs Tecno L9 Plus

Most Android users love to have an awesome device such as Tecno L9 and Tecno L9 plus.

What happens, however, when you’re caught between the two and have to choose?

Let’s have a quick look at their characteristics and specs and see which you’ll go for.

Display and Design

Tecno L9 plus sports a 6.0 inches full HD display while Tecno L9 comes with a 5.5 inches HD display.

Both smartphones come with an elegant ultra-slim body design and a fingerprint sensor beneath their back cameras. On the right and left side of both phones, you’ll find the power button, the volume rocker plus the SIM and SDcard tray.

The top front side of both phones accommodates the front flash, ambient light sensor and 5MP front camera (yeah, both come with the same size selfie camera). At the rear side is the 13MP camera for L9 plus an 8MP camera for L9.

The bottom bezels of both phones contain the capacitive navigation bar where you have the home button and the cancel or back button. On the top of the phone lies the 3.5mm headphone jack and the bottom part of the phone has the USB charging port.

Camera

The front camera of L9 plus is 5MP with LED flash. On the back side is a 13MP camera with an LED flash too.

L9 also comes with a 5MP front camera with flash and a slightly lower 8MP autofocus back camera with dual flash.

Both support fingerprint sensor camera capture and you can easily take a photo by tapping the sensor with your fingers. So, even if you didn’t get to tap the appropriate button and you hit the fingerprint sensor instead, you can still get your shot.

Battery

Tecno L9 plus is stuffed with a mind-blowing 5000mAh capacity battery while the Tecno L9 has a battery capacity of 4000mAh. L9 plus has been proven to last more than three days on a single charge. Both devices sport non-removable batteries.

Software

Both the L9 and L9 plus run on Android 7.0 Nougat OS. This is based on Tecno’s own HIOS, which is definitely packed with a lot of user interface adjustment like multi-windows, pin it, sleek notification management, and other exciting features.

The multi-window function means you can do different things with the phone at the same time. You can watch videos, browse the internet and carry out any other activity at the same time.

Security

As for security, both phones have the normal Android lock options like pin and pattern. Also, each one is endowed with a fingerprint sensor which can also be used for online purchases.

Performance & Memory

Tecno L9 Plus has 2GB RAM and Tecno L9 has just 1GB RAM. Both smartphones are loaded with 16GB ROM with support for SD card up to 128GB. Under the slim body design of this device is a quad-core MediaTek CPU clocked at 1.3GHz and is supported by Mali-T720 GPU for rendering graphics.

Conclusion

L9 plus comes in three colors so you can get to choose. You can pick from blue, gold and grey. It supports 2G and 3G network and has a dual-SIM slot.

L9, on the other hand, is available in gold, grey and silver colors. It also has 2G and 3G networks and operates a dual sim too.

Both weigh 180g but Tecno L9 plus is slightly larger with a dimension of 162×81.8×7.99 mm while Tecno L9 has a dimension of 151×76.2×8.2 mm.

Both phones are impressive devices with great spec sheets. Although, the L9 Plus is slightly higher in the spec sheets as it comes with bigger cameras, larger screen, and better battery life. But at the same time … it’s more expensive and if you’re to go for it, you should be ready to pay more. Otherwise, go for the L9 and pay less.
