It is a mid-range phone with a lot of enticing specs on paper.
Real life reviews show that most of the specs are exactly as described. That’s something I love about Xiaomi phones.
Note 5A prime is a dual SIM phone that offers a good call quality and a dedicated microSD card slot for extra memory. The MIUI 9 alongside Android 7.1.2 OS gives it an optimized speed and a beautiful interface.
This is a recommended phone that’s worth the money.

Redmi Note 5A has a plastic back with a metallic finish. It has an aluminum frame but feels plastic when you hold it in your palm. The fingerprint sensor is situated at the back as seen in Tecno phones and Infinix phones.
The phone, however, has a downside. The navigation buttons aren’t backlit. This makes it uneasy to use at night until you get used to it.
It comes with a large 5.5-inch screen that has a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. And is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3, which keeps it safe and protected from minor drops and scratches.
The display brightness isn’t the best but is visible under direct sunlight. The display has good color accuracy and great viewing angles. Images and videos look good on it.
The device is designed with a Snapdragon chipset, which is better than the MediaTek used in Tecno and Infinix phones.
Navigation and scrolling on the device are smooth, fast and easy thanks to the MIUI nice optimization. Normal app opening is fast as well.
It has a large 3GB RAM and 32GB storage that makes accomplishing this task easy.
You won’t experience annoying lags while playing games like Asphalt 8 on the device. Starting the games, however, may take quite a while. But once it does, everything works fine until you’re done.
The 13MP back camera takes good images with natural colors in a well-lit environment. It takes approximately 3 seconds to process a photo when you capture an image.
The camera struggles to give details in low light. As with other mid-range phones, the camera produces images with patches and grains when used in low-lit environments.
If you’re a selfie lover, you’ll love the front camera. It has a higher pixel of 16MP. Despite its high pixel, the image it produces isn’t as great as the 16MP camera of some other brands. That’s not surprising anyway.
The soft flash doesn’t help much in low light as the images produced also contain lots of dark patches and grains. But the good news is that it has a beauty mode to help you make your images clearer and more beautiful. You’ll have to turn up this mode to up your game on Instagram.
The battery isn’t bad. The 3080mAh at which it is rated isn’t hyped. It can take you a whole day on minimal usage and still have up to 10% remaining.
Overall, the phone offers great performance with a beautiful interface. It’s recommended and worth the money.
